Founded in 1953, Western Slope Scale provides scale service and calibration to mining, construction, farming and ranching operations on the Western Slope of Colorado, Eastern Utah, and North Western New Mexico. The present owner: Doug Bryant has been in the scale industry since 1972. We are a distributor of Rice Lake Weighing truck scales, livestock scales, and other associated weighing equipment.
Jeremy Dade and his two sons Kaleb and Levi have come on board to gradually put the old guy out to pasture. However, his 23 years experience operating and repairing asphalt plants have proved to be too valuable to throw away. Western Slope Scale now provides asphalt plant repair and calibration. With the experience of Jeremy in the construction industry and ex-coal miner Butch Aaberg's many talents, Western Slope Scale can tackle many projects we could not handle before.
Large capacity scales such as truck scales need special equipment ( 1000 pound test weights and a truck to haul them around) to be properly installed, calibrated, and maintained. Anyone purchasing a large capacity scale should consider the cost of service as well as the cost of equipment. Another important consideration is how fast they are able to respond . Western Slope Scale is the only large scale service company in Western Colorado. Competitors have to come from Denver, Salt Lake, or Albuquerque. This makes for a huge difference in service call cost and response time. . Due to our large customer base, we are often able to split mileage and travel time among 2 or more customers. This keeps service costs down for those a long way from Grand Junction such as customers in Craig , Pagosa Springs, Walden or Blanding.
When you buy a scale from a scale dealer, you are also buying their service department. When Western Slope Scale sells you a scale, we have a total commitment to make it work for you. Western Slope Scale sells the best weighing equipment available at a very competitive cost. We may not be the cheapest initially, but if you factor in the extra cost of getting service from Denver, you will come out way ahead.
